BKD started out in 2012 with founder Adelle Frejus running baking workshops from her kitchen, ably assisted by Cai (then three).
The small business began to grow rapidly, and needed an identity to help it along its way…
BKD is about more than just decorating cakes – the cake is the excuse to get together and be creative. As such, it needed an identity that gave it more of a dynamic edge and distanced it from the more cutesy alternatives.
Smith Dawson are responsible for BKD’s positioning, naming, identity and packaging, as well as consulting on the brand’s website and cookbook.
